Left-wing media takes opportunity to smear Israel

This past weekend, an event took place that many in the left-wing media only dream about seeing: a ship carrying "peaceful, humanitarian activists" (quote-unquote) headed for Palestine carrying "relief supplies" (wink-wink, nudge-nudge). The Israeli military took the bait, attempted to board the ship, were then attacked by the "peaceful, humanitarian activists" (quote-unquote)--thus giving the left-wing media here (CBS, ABC, PMSNBC) and around the world (BBC, Speigel, etc) the chance to launch another of their patented smear campaigns against the one entity they hate as much as (if not more than) former president George W. Bush.

However, before you open wide and swallow what they are trying to feed you, read these articles. First, from Daniel Pipes (you really need to go to the links in the article):
Israel's command structure, having mastered the old ways of war (the ones that lasted to 1973), has shown utter strategic incompetence at the new ways of war (in place since 1982). The new rules require an agile sense of public relations, which means that a powerful state never physically harms, even inadvertently, its rag-tag political adversaries.

Rachel Corrie has been an albatross around Israel's neck since 2003; today's dead on the seas off Gaza will prove an even worse source of anti-Zionism. Thus did the "armada of hate and violence" achieve its purpose. Thus did the Israelis fall into a trap.

And the UK Spectator (Again, check out the links contained therein):
And this flotilla was but the latest jihadi attack, deploying the Islamists’ signature strategy of violence and media manipulation. Here from MEMRI (via Just Journalism) is a clip showing the hysteria against Israel being whipped up on board before the ships set sail, with the chanting of intifada songs about ‘Khaybar’ – the iconic slaughter of Jews by Muslims in the 7th century which is used as a rallying cry to kill the Jews today -- and threats of ‘martyrdom’. This was not merely a propaganda stunt, but a terrorist attack.

Some of this footage is now available on the web but much of it is hard to follow: as ever, the Israelis have been far too slow in making the most telling images and information available in comprehensible form (including in English rather than in Hebrew, for heaven’s sake!). This clip appears to show masked and armed flotilla activists beating Israeli soldiers (although here is the BBC report accompanying that footage, in which the voiceover appears to be claiming, perversely, that the people in masks were Israeli soldiers. That said, the report on Radio Four’s World at One was fair and balanced).

This clip shows an Israeli soldier being stabbed. This IDF clip and this one show attacks on the commandoes including throwing one off the deck, attacking others with a metal pole and a firebomb and an attempted kidnap of another.

The Friday Stoopid: Breaking news about the President!!!

According to anonymous sources, at approximately 9:35 a.m. this morning, President Barack Obama blew his nose. It has not been disclosed whether he used one tissue or two, and information pertaining to the brand of tissue he used is being kept confidential. More details are forthcoming, and full coverage can be found at NBC Nightly News.
Is it just me, or is the mainstream media's doe-eyed fascination with All Things Obama getting waaaayyyy out of hand? It seems like there isn't a week that goes by without some gear in the Obama spin machine trumpeting their "EXCLUSIVE LOOK INSIDE THE WHITE HOUSE!!!!!!"

Ummmmm......if every network takes you "inside the White House," how "exclusive" can it be? And maybe--just maybe--if these mouthpieces for the liberal way actually considered the presidency of the United States to be a serious position, and maybe--just maybe--if President Obama didn't keep himself busy cozying up to Entertainment Tonight and Access Hollywood, and maybe--just maybe--if people understood the mistake this country made last November by electing a man to the highest office in the land--a man who had no experience and who has no business governing this country then maybe--just maybe--we can actually get something done.

And who cares what kind of shorts Michelle Obama wears???? She was in Arizona in August. Hellllloooo!!!!

The Israel-Hamas conflict: What you won't hear from CNN

My dear brother in Christ (and fellow DefCon blogger) The Desert Pastor has posted a rather lengthy piece exposing some facts about the "Israeli attack on a Palestinian school"--which was NOT an attack on a school, but rather an attack on Hamas, which was firing at Israleli troops from outside of a school, and using the school to house their ammunition. Here is an excerpt:
As reported in our previous bulletin, an Israel Defense Forces (IDF) unit was attacked on Tuesday, Jan. 6th by mortar fire from or near the perimeter wall of the Fakhura Elementary School run by UNWRA near the Jabalya refugee camp. Photographic evidence of the attack is available. The armed bodies of two well known Hamas operatives were later found in the school. Hamas knew that civilians, including children, were sheltering there. This did not dissuade them from making use of the UN facility, or of the shelter of its perimeter wall. Significant stocks of mortar shells and other explosive devices were stored on site.

Contrary to the information on hand yesterday, only two afore-mentioned attackers were killed when Israeli soldiers responded. Most of the civilian casualties were incurred by secondary explosions of the military stocks held in the school, which led to the collapse of a portion of the building where the civilians were sheltered. Israel expressed regret over the civilian casualties. Israel had warned residents to leave the area because it was a battle zone. Some chose to remain, assuming the UNWRA facility would provide sufficient shelter, which it would have done had not Hamas abused UNWRA’s privileged status. Others remained due to Hamas insistence.

Think Wolf Blitzer will give you that kind of info? Yeah, right.

You can read the whole thing at The Desert Pastor.

A sign of things to come?

Maybe. After all, Barack Obama has gotten in the way of the coronation of Her Highness, Queen Pantsuit of Little Rock (via Al-Reuters):
"My husband did not wrap up the nomination in 1992 until he won the California primary somewhere in the middle of June, right? We all remember Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in June in California. I don't understand it," she said.

Robert Kennedy, brother of slain U.S. President John F. Kennedy and of Sen. Edward Kennedy of Massachusetts, was assassinated during the 1968 race for the Democratic nomination.

Now, the Mainstream press has a dilemma here. On the one hand, you've got the Queen Bee whom they want with everything in them to be president, so they can't be too hard on her. However, she did diss one of the Kennedy Clan, which is a huge no-no among the Liberal Elite. But if a Republican had said this, it would have been a slam dunk that it would have been all over the front page of Pravda the New York Slimes.

I wonder if The Pantsuit was dropping a little hint there? Wouldn't surprise me. Seems most people who cross the Clintons wind up dead unexpectedly. And you know, there is that prophecy in the Bible. Revelation 13:1-3--I saw a beast rising up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns...And I saw one of his heads as if it had been mortally wounded...

Not trying to imply anything. Nah, nothing at all.

¿Hillary? gets money from criminals, media yawns

Remember all the criminals and terrorists that ¿Hillary?'s husband pardoned right before they left office? Remember how the big whoop-tee-doo in the left-wing media was that there wasn't going to be any reciprocal back-scratching? Nah, that would never happen!

Or would it? (via Jammie Wearing Fool):
Three recipients of controversial 11th-hour pardons issued by former President Bill Clinton in January 2001 have donated thousands of dollars to the presidential campaign of his wife, Democratic front-runner Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., according to campaign finance records examined by ABC News, in what some good government groups said created an appearance of impropriety.

"It's not illegal," Melanie Sloan, executive director of Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, told ABC News. "But, of course, it's inappropriate and she should return the money. It does raise the appearance that this is payback.

"One can only hope that she wasn't yet aware of who made the donations," said Sloan.

Nope! No idea whatsoever! And that whole Norman Hsu fiasco? Why that was just an innocent oversight. He didn't think he was doing anything illegal! Er, something.

I wonder. If this was a Republican, do ya think the left-wing media (Pravda Washington Post, The NY Slimes, Communist Cable News Network) might have just a liiiiitle to say about it?

You can read about some of ¿Hillary?'s other shenanigans over at Cao's Blog.

Democrats: equal opportunity offenders

You may have heard this by now. Although you probably haven't heard which party the woman belongs to (Via Newsbusters):
A state representative in a runoff election infuriated civil rights leaders after she ended a conversation with the mother of the NAACP's local president by saying, "Talk to you later, Buckwheat." State Rep. Carla Blanchard Dartez, of Morgan City, acknowledged she made the remark during a Thursday night telephone conversation with Hazel Boykin to thank her for driving voters to the polls. Buckwheat, a black child character in the "Little Rascals" comedies of the 1930s and '40s, is viewed as a racial stereotype demeaning to black people.

You know that if she was a Republican, that fact would be blared in the headline. But, she is a Democrat, so the mainstream media has to bury that fact. I wonder what would have happened if Rush Limbaugh had said something like that...

Media bias? Huh, what?

Nah, the MSM isn't made up of a bunch of rabid, left-wing, anti-Semites. Uh, yeah, right. That's why they're giving Ahmedinajean the red-carpet treatment. (Hijacked from Hot Air):
It’s the luncheon part that’s so precious. Listening to him speak is disgusting enough but that at least can be spun as knowing thine enemy. To follow the session with a jolly repast just points up how casually they’re treating it. Watch him show off his just-asking-questions Holocaust dance moves, then knock back a glass of wine and some strip steak. It’s dinner theater. What filth.

LGF also notes that the latest word from Iranian media is that
he’s still coming to Ground Zero. That contradicts what the Iranian mission in NYC said last night and what Bloomberg told a radio show this morning, but Tehran would obviously know his plans better than they would. If he goes down there, prepare to see the photos of it included in every last campaign post I write from now until the election, all of them emblazoned with the “Brought to you by the RNC” motto. Just my little contribution to the mass scalp-taking that’s going to occur among Republicans if they let this fiasco happen.

Update: Cowboy diplomacy!

Nah, nothing to see here. Just your usual left-wing media cozying up to terrorists. Same old, same old.

How dare the media coddle this anti-Semite who wants to blow Isarel off the map? Oh, wait. My bad. It's Israel that's the terrorist state. They're the ones who crashed the planes on 9/11. They're the ones who blow up innocent men, women and children with suicide bombs, because that's what their Qur'an tells them to do. It's Israel that is trying to get nukes so they can wipe out the Middle East. And Ahmedinajean is a good little choir boy. Yeah, right.

Republican arrested--keep the story going. Democrat arrested--make it go away

OK, we've been hearing for the las week about Republican Larry Craig and whether or not he was trying to solicit sex with an undercover cop (via McPaper). He pled guilty, said his actions were "misconstrued", yada yada yada. I guess he's right. I mean so he was playing footsie with the guy in the next stall, and reaching his hand under the stall divider. I mean, maybe he was out of TP and needed a new roll. Of course I'm being sarcastic!

That said, let's consider the curious case of Democrat Bob Filner shoving an airport employee (via Seattle Times) out of the way because she just wouldn't step-and-fetchit fast enough for his liking. What, you haven't heard much about it? Of course you haven't. That's because he's a Democrat, and the media have to watch out for their own.

Dan Abrams rips Christianne I'm-a-poor-excuse

The Cable News Network, Al-CNN, did a series last week called "God's Warriors", hosted by Christianne "I may not hate Christians, but I don't have a problem with Muslims blowing them up either" Ammanpour. Last night Dan Abrams--who is, other than Tucker Carlson, one of the only voices of reason at MSBDS PMSNBC --exposed Ms. Ammanpour's work for what it was: a promotion of Islamofascists as victims. Video of the "Live with Dan Abrams" segment is at CAMERA (Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting in America).

Notice in the video how the Muslim woman keeps yapping whenever anybody else tries to say something. Of course, that's how Islamofascists work: play the victim, blame it on the Joooos--and Booosh--and keep talking, drowning out people who oppose them and their goal of world domination.

Church cancels "gay" celebration

Contrary to what has been blathered about on left-wing kook sites like Daily Kos, High Point Church did not cancel Cecil Sinclair's memorial service because he was gay. They cancelled because the family wanted the service to be a celebration of his gay lifestyle. And unlike many politically correct, liberal, Bible-ignoring churches (*cough* Episcopal *cough*) this church stood firm on biblical principles, and that rankled the family, so of course they had to slander the church as being "insensitive" (via Sister Toldjah):
Here are the facts. High Point Church, a non-denominational church in Arlington, Texas, had been praying for Cecil Sinclair after Cecil’s brother Lee (the only member of the Sinclair family who was a member of the church) requested prayer for his brother who had been awaiting a heart transplant.

When Cecil Sinclair’s health became critical last week, the family called a staff member from the church to be with them at the hospital. In the hospital, in the moments immediately following Mr. Sinclair’s death, the family asked the staff member if the church would be open to holding a memorial service for their loved one.
The staff member assured them the church would be available to help the family in any way appropriate, a response any pastor would give in that situation.

Cecil was not a member of High Point Church, yet this church selflessly and sacrificially ministered to his family in the wake of his death, preparing and delivering food for the family and one hundred relatives and friends, along with many other expressions of kindness.
The church offered to produce a video retrospective of Mr. Sinclair’s life for use during the memorial service. When the family provided the pictures to the church it was then that the church learned of their intention to make the memorial service a celebration of Cecil Sinclair’s gay lifestyle. According to a statement on the High Point Church Web site, one of the photos provided by the family showed a man touching another man inappropriately, along with other unsuitable photos.

The family also requested that
“an associate of an openly homosexual choir” officiate at the service and that the homosexual choir sing during the service. “It became clear to the church staff that the family was requesting an openly homosexual service at High Point Church—which is not our policy to allow,” the statement on the church’s Web site said. After initially agreeing to host the memorial service, the church informed the family it could no longer do so based on the direction the family wanted to take it. The church then secured—and paid for—another location for the memorial service, which the family declined. The church also produced the memorial video without the inappropriate photos.

Contrary to the mainstream media reports,
High Point Church did not refuse to host the funeral of a gay man. The church refused on biblical principle to allow a celebration of the homosexual lifestyle in its sanctuary, a decision most theologically sound churches would make under similar circumstances.
But, don't wait for an apology from The Associated Press, or Daily Kooks Kos. After all, that wouldn't fit in with their firmly entrenched beliefs that we Christians are a bunch of insensitive, hateful Neanderthals. John Hawkins add more at Right Wing News.

Scott Thomas Beauchamp--Dissected and discredited

I never really felt a need to comment on the whole Scott Thomas Beauchamp issue. I figured he was just another invention of the left-wing, anti-American media (CBS, CNN, New York Times, etc). Besides, there were so many others that were ripping him to shreds, and doing it a whole lot better than I ever could.

But after reading this (via Confederate Yankee), and considering that New Republic (motto: "Truth? Who needs it? We've got Islamofascists to appease") actually published his tripe, I can honestly say that the left-wing media in this country is devoted to one overall purpose: to bring an end to truth in this country, or at least do all they can towards that end, and undermine all that America stands for.

I won't go into the details that CY went into. I'll just send you over there. Read the comments section as well, as there are several former military men who can rip Beauchamp's story to bits, because they were actually in Iraq, not in Kuwait like Beauchamp was.

For just a tatse, check out CY's posts here, here, here, and here.

New York Slimes: Nah, no racial bias there

I mean, just beacuse they convicted the WHITE Duke lacrosse players before the ink even dried on the arrest reports, doesn't mean that they're going to cover up and water down any crimes committed by blacks against whites. Or, would they? (via LaShawn Barber):

A 12-year-old girl was plied with vodka and gang-raped by four men, and the New York Times [free registration required] leads the story with how good a football player one of the rapists is and props up the idea that racism might be the reason the district attorney is going after him.

Why on earth would the “newspaper of record” do that? Because the accused gang rapists are black and the alleged victim is white.

In the Duke “rape” case, the NYT published story after story, month after month, parroting the district attorney’s lines and tried its best to lend credence to disgraced and disbarred Mike Nifong’s case against three white men. The liberal journalists seized every opportunity to demonize the men accused and slant stories to that end, while setting the poor-oppressed-black-rape-victim narrative in stone.

The headline “Charge against a Player Raises Question of Justice,” should read “Delayed Trial For Gang Rape Victim Raises Question of Justice.” That’s what should be important, not whether some black rapist gets to play ball.

But we know that black-on-white crime bores the heck out of liberals, so to spice things up, they turn the issue on its head and focus on poor oppressed black football players.

Clay Waters of
Times Watch, gets to the point much better than I do: “Faced with a black athlete as a suspect and an alleged rape victim who is white, the Times displays a concern for ‘racial overtones’ totally absent in its shoddy coverage of the Duke lacrosse ‘rape’ hoax.”

Indeed. Why wasn’t the NYT concerned about racial overtones in the Duke case, when it was clear to anyone with half a brain that Nifong indicted the white men accused of raping a black woman (with no DNA matches) in a heavily black city to win what otherwise would have been a tough battle to retain his job?

As I said, boring. The libs needed to spice things up, writing snide stories about “rich” white lacrosse players and oppressed black strippers.

The rape victim, now 15, won’t get any sympathy from left-leaning newspapers because she’s white and her rapists are black. Believe whatever you want, but it’s really that simple.

(Hat tip: KC Johnson)

The fleabag's name is Chris Collins, and he's a linebacker at Oklahoma State. So, obviously, "The Man" is trying to keep a black man down, and take away his livelihood. I read the article over at the Slimes. Scant mention of the victim, a whole lot of worry about whether this is being tried because of race (but of course they had no such worries about the Duke non-rape case), and a whole lot of boo-hooing about "this poor kid", and "I feel bad", and "he's such a talent", and "he was always a good student", and other such liberal poo.

You know, I don't remember hearing Al Sharpton calling for this guy to be convicted. I don't remember hearing him speaking out against this crime of racial hatred. Oh, that's right. It's beacuse the victim is white, and the perp is black. Therefore, it's not important enough for King Al. He's too busy crusading against white people that use the word "ho."

Nothing to see here, folks!! That's right!! Now, move along to the next Lindzee Lowhanne story!!

05 July 2007

But we neeeeed to understaaaand them!!

Marvin Heir and Abraham Cooper have a column up at Jewish World Review. Apparently, the New York Slimes (motto: "We heart traitors!!") and The Whackington Post (motto: "We heart terrorists!!") have given ink to the whack-job leader of Hamas, which, coincidentally, just happens to be a terrorist organization. But you must understand the need to sit down, with tea and a plate of warm bran muffins, and just talk and get to know these people who want to destroy us and convert us to Islam.

Really.

Now, lest you think that this cozy relationship that these papers enjoy with Americ's enemies is something new, the writers remind us of these historical nuggets:
The July 2, 1942 headline "700,000 Victims," was posted Page Six detailing the murder over a half million Jews, including in mobile gas ovens. Page One was reserved for New York Governor Herbert Lehman's donation of his tennis shoes to the war effort. When on December 18, 1942, the NYT finally front-paged, a story on Hitler's Final Solution, entitled, "11 Allies Condemn Nazi War on Jews", The Washington Post printed the same story on Page Four, while The Los Angeles Times placed it on Page Ten.

As for the Soviet Union, Walter Durant, the New York Times longtime Moscow Bureau Chief, won a Pulitzer Prize for stories that effectively buried Ukraine's invisible victims under an avalanche of praise for Stalin's deadly policies.

And let us not forget that, like Hamas, Hitler also sought election through the democratic process. But once he took power he made it clear, just like Hamas, that his god was the bullet, not the ballot.
But, hey, let's reward these murderers with space in what used to be a major newspaper. Nope, no liberal bias here!

Some people have a case of "Fred! Envy"

Check out this column over at FredHeads USA.

Ya know, if the New York Slimes (motto: "All the news our enemies need to see in print!") is going to try and tear down a candidate (or, potential candidate), they really need to try something other than trying to invent a scandal. Oh, wait. Nah, that's what the Slimes does best.
Let's recap, shall we? The Dem[ocrat Harlan] Matthews went after the son Tony [Thompson, Fred!'s son], not the other way around. Sen. Thompson "was sensitive to the potential appearance of favoritism to his sons’ clients and sought to keep a distance." The son Tony "never lobbied the Senate or discussed clients with his father." The OTHER son, Daniel, "was registered as a lobbyist only at the state level." AND-no charges have ever been filed. No accusations have ever been made.
After his election to the U.S. Senate, Fred!'s sons got lobbying gigs. Sounds fishy, huh? But here's the kicker: neither one of them lobbied dear old dad. Fred! kept a distance from Tony, while Daniel only worked at the state level. But, Fred! is a Republican, so of course this means he was a corrupt, evil man. Although the Slimes does slide this statement into the story, hoping you'll skim over it:
Mr. Thompson was hardly the only lawmaker with relatives in similar positions. As money pouring into lobbying firms has soared in recent years, many lawmakers have watched family members get into the business.
Oh, and if you want to read about some real scandal, go over to The Jawa Report, and there you can find a lengthy list of all the criminals that the Clintons pardoned on their way out the White House door (**LANGUAGE WARNING**). They make Scooter Libby look like a Boy Scout.

The death of the Scamnesty bill

OK, so it happened last week. My wife and I were in the middle of moving, and I had to wait until the weekend for Comcast to hook up my internet.

We cannot forget how the schlubs in Washington tried to ruin and bankrupt this country by adding 12-20 million new welfare cases to the roll. We cannot forget how many RINO's in the Senate, trying to cozy up to their favorite bartender (Ted Kennedy), almost gave away the southwest United States to the LaRaza crowd. The defeat of this bill was brought about by pressure from us right-wing bloggers, and from talk radio. Gribbit has an analysis at his own website:

What did Talk Radio and Bloggers learn from the battle to kill the bill?

We learned that when back door deals are being hustled through Congress, the American people need to know as-soon-as-possible and we are the ones who must keep up the fight. America has political ADHD and those in Congress who propose these back door deals rely on that.

[...]
We learned that talk radio and the conservative blogosphere work well together. Bloggers are passionate people. We can recognize dangerous aspects of pending legislation then pick it apart. Talk radio has the power of its audience. When a talk radio show host can grab hold of the research done by the conservative blogosphere and take that information to his/her audience, wondrous democratic forces take hold. The people are empowered. It makes them think. It makes them read. Most of all it makes them want to talk about what they like about what’s going on. But more importantly it makes them talk about what they don’t like about what’s going on. And that’s what happened with the death of Bush-McKennedy.
So, what do the Defeatocrats Democrats want to do to make sure their kingodm isn't threatened again? They want to impose their will onto the people by reviving that steaming pile of horse...uh, you know...called the "Fairness Doctrine." This is an illustration of the "Fairness" Doctrine:

What that means is that in a given medium (say, talk radio), there has to be a "balance" between opposing viewpoints. In other words, if I own a radio station, and I broadcast Rush Limbaugh betwee noon and 3, then Hannity from 3 to 6, I have to give equal time to a bunch of left-wing loonies like Al Franken or Randi Rhodes for 6 hours. But hey, as long as we're regulating talk radio, let's do what John Bambenek (at Stop the ACLU) suggests:

As a compromise measure, if we are going to enact a "fairness doctrine" for the radio waves, we should do so also for television. Let's have fairness on NBC, ABC and CBS which are also transmitted over the air. Let's have fairness on the movies shown on those channels so that they fairly represent all viewpoints instead of the latent left-wing propaganda that animates Hollywood. Let's have fairness in the various sitcoms that all portray fast and loose morals. We could have real family-friendly entertainment again.

We could also apply the fairness doctrine to the Internet to balance left-wing biases outlets such as Wikipedia and the Daily Kos. Let's apply the fairness doctrine to colleges and the classroom where indoctrination is most prevalent (and most left-wing). The possibilities are endless and the lawyers could be well-employed. Let's empower the Family Research Council to litigate fairness on all our media outlets.

MoDo: Rhymes with...

the name of a bird that has been extinct for a while. Maybe...this?

Caught this over at Pillage Idiot. From the depths of the wit and wisdom that is DoDo MoDo:
Hypocrisy is the homage vice pays to virtue, as the gloriously gay Oscar Wilde said. And gays are the sacrifice that hypocritical Republican candidates offer to placate “values” voters — even though some candidates are not so finicky about morals regarding their own affairs and divorces.
Boy, that's just clever. Uhh, wait a minute. What's that? Oscar Wilde didn't say that? You mean somebody fact-checked her MoDoNess? Yes they did, and this is what they found:
As [Steven] Berkowitz [A letter-writer to the NY Slimes] notes, however, that wasn't Oscar Wilde's line at all. "Hypocrisy is the homage vice pays to virtue" (which, by the way, is a brilliant observation) belongs to La Rochefoucauld, as even an elementary Google search would have disclosed, to say nothing of actually cracking open a dictionary of quotations.

But that would have distracted from Dowd's narrative, which is that a line from a gay author showed that Romney is a hypocrite on gays in the military, as are all the other Republican presidential candidates. (She, on the other hand, thinks the war in Iraq is a crime, but it's a scandal that gays aren't allowed to die in it.)
But, it's us, the right-wing bloggers, who don't have any accountability, and just throw stuff out there, and can't be trusted. Er, something.

Uhh, Keith, take your meds, dude

Come on the risin' wind,
We're goin' up around the bend!!
--Creedence Clearwater Revival

Well, Keith "If somebody doesn't watch my show, then I'm going home!!" Olbermann isn't just going around the bend. He's done gone around it, and he's-a heading downhill...fast (via Newsbusters):
OLBERMANN, AT 8:29 PM: Since last August, there had been a period of calm, the screaming, hair-on-fire pronouncements about terror plots, that may have had real plotters but no real conceivable chance of actually happening, had ceased. That period spanned between the 2006 midterm elections and the week we reached exactly 18 months until the 2008 presidential election -- just a coincidence. Our third story in the Countdown, from the mindbending idea that four guys dressed as pizza delivery men were going to outgun all the soldiers at Fort Dix, to the not-too-thought-out plan to blow up JFK Airport by lighting a match 40 miles away, here we go again. Time for an update of our segment, the "Nexus of Politics and Terror," instances now 13 in number when those two worlds have overlapped and we are reminded by our government, with or without justification, that we should always fear "fear itself." We offer two prefaces tonight. One, the words of Dennis Milligan, the new state chairman of the Republican Party in Arkansas, who says about Iraq to the newspaper the Arkansas Democrat Gazette, quote, "At the end of the day, I believe fully the President is doing the right thing, and I think all we need is some attacks on American soil like we had on [September 11, 2001], and the naysayers will come around very quickly to appreciate not only the commitment for President Bush, but the sacrifice that has been made by men and women to protect this country."
Does anybody really take this guy seriously? I mean, I know that there are probably a few dozen people that actually watch his show. And the rest of his "audience" is made up of stoner college kids working at Wal-Mart that turn all the TV's in the electronic secion to PMSNBC to try and bump up his ratings. But does anybody with a brain really think he knows what he's talking about?

Listen Keith, just because these terrorists aren't too bright, doesn't mean that their hatred for America is any less than, say, yours, or Cindy Sheehan's. And I know you may not think your ever-intuitive mind needs help, but Dennis Milligan was NOT saying he was hoping for an attack. It's kinda like saying "All we need is for someone to get killed at that intersection. Then the city will see we need to put up a red light."

Now go and take your meds like a good boy.

Liberals: selectively outraged

OK, so let me get this straight.
But oh, let a kid at Fox News put in a tape of John Conyers instead of William "Cold Cash" Jefferson, and MoonbatLand goes into full revolt!!! Hey, lay off the kid. It's hard to tell one corrupt Democrat......from another.

AlGore to visit Neptune

AP--"Former Vice-President AlGore will visit the planet Neptune, in an effort to pitch his new movie, "An Inconvenient Truth", to all Neptunians. "The global warming occuring on Neptune is an outrage! We need to rid Neptune of all her SUV's, and Neptunians need to make their carbon footprint smaller!"

Meanwhile, singer Sheryl Crow urged Neptunians to use only one square of toilet paper, so as to slow down the deforestation of their planet. At a speaking function, Ms. Crow and her friend Laurie David, tried tying the global warming trend on Neptune to an evil plot that was hatched by the Rove-Bushco-Halliburton machine."

Yes, folks, from 1980 through 2004, the planet Neptune experienced a significant amount of...GLOBAL WARMING!! (via Hot Air) Oh, and so did the planet Mars. So tell me, how many SUV's does the average citizen of these planets own? Are they enough to contribute to the shrinking ice caps on Mars? And where is Al "Chicken Little" Gore when these planets need them?
