About me, and about this site

For the first 34 years of my life, I believed in the existence of God. I believed that He created the universe in 6 literal days. I believed that Jesus Christ was the Son of God, born of a virgin. I believed that he died on the cross for the sins of mankind. I believed that He rose again on the third day. I believed that He was coming back one day.

Just because I knew those FACTS did not mean I was saved. After all, even the demons know these FACTS. (I'll let you read James 1:19 on your own.) Because knowing these facts did not stop me from indulging my every fleshly desire. Whether it was alcohol or pornography, or whatever, I was under the assumption that just because I went to Sunday School as a child, and believed all the FACTS I listed above, that would be enough to get me through the gates.

But, eh, not so much.

And there are many people today who are walking around just as lost as I was. They think that just because they said a little prayer at church or VBS when they were a little kid, or because their parents dedicated them when they were infants, or because they were baptized or christened as an infant, that their ticket for New Jerusalem is stamped, and their eternity is secure.

But, eh, not so much.

But then, in May of 2001, God chased me down, and on a Friday night, He caught me and opened my eyes, and showed me I was lost, and needed salvation. That is why I am so dedicated to putting forth the truth of God's word. Because I was deceived by the devil for so many years, thinking that what I had was real. I didn't really think certain religions were too bad. In fact, I thought that God and Allah and Mohammed and Buddha were just different teachers, and that they were all equally good. I thought Jehovah's Witnesses were OK, just a little annoying. And Mormons were just another denomination.

But once I learned the truth about these false religions, it stirred up a passion in me to make people aware of the false teachings of these groups. So, this site is dedicated to holding up the truth of the Bible--God's perfect, inerrant, unchangeable, unalterable, infallible Word. At the same time, I also use this as a fortress from which to attack the most damnable heresies of the day (Mormonism, Watchtowerism, the prosperity "gospel", etc.)

I will never cease to mark those who hold to doctrines that oppose the truth of God--and who lead people to do likewise--and I do refer to such people with appropriate terms (heretic, blasphemer, etc.). My goal in doing so is to help the new believer, the potential believer, and even the one who would view these heresies as true Christianity, to avoid these people. For the apostle Paul commanded us in Romans 16:17-19--"Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them. For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple. For your obedience has become known to all. Therefore I am glad on your behalf; but I want you to be wise in what is good, and simple concerning evil." Also, Jesus said, "Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves." (Matthew 10:16)

If someone is spreading false beliefs that go against the true word of God, then I probably am going to expose that person. I will try not to be too brutal, but I will be forceful and blunt in my assessment of their teachings. And in all things, I will seek to be truthful, even when dealing with those I disagree with. I will double-check--and cite sources for--any quotes or information I find about these people. For those who oppose the truth of God's word are indeed holding to the doctrines of devils (1st Timothy 4:1-4), and I am compelled to do so by my love for Christ Jesus my Lord, who loved me and gave His life for me (Galatians 2:21), and my hope that your eyes will be opened, you will be turned from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God (Acts 26:18).

Please feel free to leave a comment, whether you agree with me wholeheartedly, whether you disagree with me, whether you feel I need correction, or whether you hold my beliefs in scorn. I would ask, however, that you refrain from personal attacks on me or anyone else, that you would use factual information, and that you not use profanities, obscenities, vulgarities, or any other offensive language. Do not link to sites that are offensive or pornographic in nature. If you use any prohibited language, or link to prohibited sites, your comment WILL be edited or deleted at my discretion. Oh, and no spam. Especially Ron Paul spam. If you post comment spam, I WILL delete your comment.

And may the Lord make you increase and abound in love to one another and to all, just as we do to you, so that He may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all His saints.--1st Thessalonians 3:12-13
