¿Tiene Carta Verde?

Apparently, in Harry Reid's universe, you don't need one. (For all you non-Spanish speakers, the title of the post says, "¿Got Green Card?") Because, according to The Dingy One (via Michelle Malkin):
This week, we will vote on cloture and final passage of a comprehensive bill that will strengthen border security, bring the 12 million undocumented Americans out of the shadows, and keep our economy strong. In the days ahead, we will work to improve the bill to protect and strengthen family ties while improving the structure of the temporary-worker program.
Um, excuse me. What did I miss here? 12 million people who came into this country illegally, who had no respect for our borders or our soveriegnty or our laws, many of whom come here to do us harm, and rob our welfare system...since when do we consider them to be Americans? Well, I guess when you're desperate to hang on to the House and Senate majority you worked so hard to get, and you really want to win the White House, you want to sign up as many new Democratic voters as you can.

Liberals: selectively outraged

OK, so let me get this straight.
But oh, let a kid at Fox News put in a tape of John Conyers instead of William "Cold Cash" Jefferson, and MoonbatLand goes into full revolt!!! Hey, lay off the kid. It's hard to tell one corrupt Democrat......from another.

"Cold Cash" Jefferson indicted

From Stop the ACLU comes the story that we have been waiting for, and that Queen Nan from SanFran has been waiting...to cover up. Yep, she and Dingy Harry and Schmuck Chumer and all their buddies are going to deal with corrpution forcefully! They're going to get rid of the "culture of corruption", by gum! Or, maybe not.
Rep. William Jefferson, D-La., was indicted Monday on federal charges of racketeering, soliciting bribes and money-laundering in a long- running bribery investigation into business deals he tried to broker in Africa. The indictment handed up in federal court in Alexandria., Va., Monday is more than an inch thick and list 16 alleged violations of federal law that could keep Jefferson in prison for up to 200 years.
Here we go, folks! second verse (actually, I think we're up to, like, verse 10 or something), same as the first:
THIS WILL BE THE MOST ETHICAL CONGRESS EVER!!
Sure thing, Queen Nan. So, when ya gonna whip out that royal scepter and drum ol' Willy C-Note out of your "most ethical congress ever"?? Eh, you're probably right. I doubt she will either. But, that's what the American voters get for believing that Democrats would want to have anything to do with ethics. Oh, by the way...

"Most ethical congress ever"--Google it.

More from "The Most Ethical Congress...EVER!!!"

Hard to believe Pravda CNN turning on their own. But they did, and showed an expose' on Congress' wasteful spending (via Hot Air).

I'm confused. Wasn't Queen Nancy going to reign in spending? wasn't she going to take her royal scepter and smash through all the pork?

Nah, I didn't think so either. You've got to watch the video. I love how Robert "Grand Dragon of the KKK" Byrd says that if earmarks were made public, tehre would be more of them. But, that's a glimpse inside the mind of a liberal.

Today's episode is brought to you...

by the letter "D". That stands for "dishonest", "distatseful", and "Democrats". And the drumbeat continues. The question again, in case you missed it any of the other times I asked it: Isn't this supposed to be "The Most Ethical Congress Ever"? Weren't Queen Nan and Dingy Harry going to clean up Washington, and reign in the whole "Culture of Corruption" thingy? Eh, not so much. From Robert Novak's Town Hall column:
WASHINGTON -- Democrats controlling the House of Representatives demonstrated this month the hollowness of their claim that they have ended the corruption of 12 Republican years. Rep. John Murtha quietly slipped into the Intelligence authorization bill two earmarks costing taxpayers $5.5 million. The beneficiary was a contractor headquartered in Murtha's hometown of Johnstown, Pa., whose executives have been generous political contributors to the powerful 17-term congressman.

This scandalous conduct would be unknown except for reforms by the new Democratic majority. But the remodeled system is not sufficiently transparent to expose in a timely manner machinations of Murtha and fellow earmarkers to his colleagues, much less to the public. It took Republican Rep. Jeff Flake of Arizona, the leading House earmark-buster, to discover the truth.

[...]

Nor do Democrats show interest in curbing earmarks. Rep. Silvestre Reyes of Texas, Pelosi's hand-picked Intelligence Committee chairman, blamed non-disclosure of earmarks on a mistake by the Government Printing Office. House Appropriations Committee Chairman David Obey first skirted the new rules by claiming no earmarks were contained in the supplemental appropriations. Last week, he decreed that henceforth, earmarks in his bills would not be revealed until a measure passes both the House and Senate. The test for Democrats is what they will do about Murtha now that it is known he rewards contributors with federal funds.
No, don't you understand, it's the REPUBLICANS that are the bad people!! The Democrats only use your money for good things! Hey, are you questioning the Democrats' patriotism?

Is there funny stuff going on on both sides of the aisle? Yes. Is it ever going to end? Who knows. But this country got bamboozled by Queen Nan from SanFran and the rest of her liberal cronies, and we're paying for it.

"Most ethical congress" gets ethicaler

Well, if you can't get them to support your pork, threaten them. At least that's the strategy of "Happy Jack" Murtha (D-Okinawa). Besides, it's the liberal way (via Hot Air):
Murtha, known for his bluff manner and fondness of pork barrel projects, did not dispute claims that he charged across the House floor May 17 to confront Rep. Mike Rogers, R-Mich. Rogers had tried unsuccessfully to strike a $23 million Murtha earmark — a targeted spending item — for a drug intelligence center in Murtha’s district…

In a House speech Monday, Rogers said Murtha threatened him by saying, “you will not get any earmarks now and forever.” Rogers, backed by House GOP leaders, said Murtha’s threat violated congressional ethics rules.

In conversations with colleagues and reporters, Democrats played down the incident...

“During the vote, Murtha sat in a darkened corner of the House floor,
laughing with colleagues who surrounded him during the vote. As the clock wound down, other Democrats him to congratulate the senior member of the Appropriations Committee who oversees a massive defense spending bill every year.”
Will the drive-by media be shouting for an investigation into Murtha's actions? Eh, not so much. But, if this was somebody with an "R" after their name, you better believe Chrissy "Facts? Who needs them?" Matthews and Keith "Is anybody listening to me?" Olbermann would have it splahed all over their broadcast.

Queen Nan whips out her royal scepter

What did we hear before the November '06 election? "Most ethical Congress", "work together", blah blah blah. And the American voters ate it up. Well, it's time for the American voters to grab a coffee, rub their bloodshot eyes, and shake off the hangover. Queen Nan fron SanFran ain't that girl that looked so good at closing time (via The Anchoress):

Today, however, Powerline and others tell us that Ms. Pelosi, unhappy that the minority does not simply roll over and play dead as they’re supposed to, wishes to change rules which have been in place since 1822.

You see, when the Democrats were the minority, they believed it was their jobs and their patriotic duties to follow the traditional guidelines written by Thomas Jefferson, as every congress has done, particularly if the rules helped them get heard, forced others to stand behind their votes or even if they simply justified a bit of obstruction. But when those guidelines don’t serve the purpose, or when they force Democrats to leave an inconvenient paper trail that they can’t easily erase

Seems that the Queen's royal court has turned into a royal pain. I'd hate to see her and ¡Hillary locked in a steel cage.

The IQ challenge: Senate Deomcrats vs a pile of rocks

Since the pile of rocks soundly defeated Sheryl Crow in the last round, it has decided to take on a new challenger--Senate Intel chairman Silvestre Reyes:
The House next week will consider the Democrat-crafted Intelligence Authorization bill, which includes a provision directing an assessment of the effects that climate change has on national security.

[...]

Intelligence panel Chairman Silvestre Reyes, Texas Democrat, said the climate-change study is one of several shifts his party has made to intelligence policy.

"We're concerned that global warming might impact our ability to maintain national security," he told The Times, describing the idea as "cutting edge."

"We want to get feedback from the intelligence community to understand if there are possible global issues," Mr. Reyes said.

Yeah, buddy. 'Cause ya know, those penguins down at the South Pole are getting pretty feisty, and if their demand aren't met, there's talk that they might attack us. No, really. We don't need to keep track of what Al-Qaida is doing. We don't need to keep an eye on Ahmed-is-a-nutjob over in Iran. Beacuse that doggone global warming, that's the real danger right there, yessireee-bob!

Of course, what else would you expect fro Senate Democrats? This is the same group that consists of the likes of Teddy "I'll drink to that...and anything else" Kennedy, "Rosary Joe" Biden, Tsarina Hillary!, Difi, and Barbara Boxer. And now, Silvestre Reyes. These people wouldn't know how to use a steak knife to fight their way out of a wet paper bag. But, now, they're in charge of our military. Way to go, America.

Bump: DiFi, part of the "most ethical congress ever"

Saw this over at RWN, and decided to bump this post about that paragon of virtue, that last bastion of honesty, that gleaming ray of hope for true ethical reform...or, not.

DiFi, ethics. Google it.

UPDATE: Speaking of ethics, did you hear that Bill Frist was cleared of any wrongdoing in the smear campaign started by a bunch of FlamingLib democrats, and perpetuated by their friends in the drive-by media? Nah, I didn't think so. Via Powerline. Here too.

There's a phrase to describe what Democrats are doing

I call it "Stepping on our toes and calling it dancing." This "MOST ETHICAL CONGRESS EVER!!!" (it has to be, Queen Nancy said so!!) is lying to our faces and calling it the truth:
Among those who will experience a tax increase if the Democrats' plan becomes law:

-- 26 million small business owners, by an average of $3,960.
-- 48 million married couples, by an average of $2,899.
-- 42 million families with children, by an average of $2,181.
-- 12 million single women with children, by an average of $1,082.
-- 17 million senior citizens, by an average of $2,270.
But these aren't tax increases. They're...um...fiscally responsible adjustments to the budgetary uplink of the...ahh phooey!! They're tax hikes, they will hurt the people who need help the most, and Democrats will lie and cajole just to get their communist socialist family-friendly (yeah, right) budget pushed through to the president who will, if he has a lick of sense, veto the doggone thing and give the Kos Kiddies Krowd Democrats a kick in their collective backside and put them in their place. And if he doesn't, then America needs to when the time comes around.

The culture of corruption: coming to a theater near DiFi's district soon!!

Actually, it's already there. I can just hear it now. "Well, at least she was honest enough to resign on her own!!" or "She was able to do her job, blah blah blah!!" or, "BUSH LIED!! PEOPLE DIED!!"

Honest enough to resign? How long was her hubby raking in the dough from defense contracts? And when did she resign? Only after this little discrepancy was brought to light. "Most ethical congress ever." Yeah, right.

You know, it says something that she can sit there, all pompous and aloof, crying about how this war is for oil, and this and that and something else, and trying to be all puffy and self-righteous, and not once do we hear anything from Pravda the New York Slimes, or The Soviet News Agency CNN, or CBS News about her "conflict of interest", or how she was sitting there with her husband raking in all kinds of money over this "war for oil."

William Jefferson: This generation's Roscoe P. Coltrane

You gotta be kidding me. A guy gets caught with $90,000 in bribe money campaign conributions in his freezer, so what does Nancy "Most Ethical Congress Ever!!!" Pelosi do? Gives him a spot on the Homeland Security Committee!!! She had no choice, of course. If she didn't throw him some kind of bone, she'd have had the whole Congressional Black Caucus on her back, she would have lost votes for the Democratic Party, and they would have lost the power they lied fought so hard to gain. But, what would one expect from the party of Clinton? I guess the one thing that saved Jefferson's bacon was the fact that the money didn't come from Jack Abramoff.

And just what are Jefferson's qualifications for ensuring the safety of our contry from those who seek to destroy us? Well, for one....Tell ya what. I'll get back to ya on that.

23 January 2007

From California, the (nanny) state that brought you Pelosi, Boxer, DiFi...

Comes this "News Of The Absurd!!"

You have got to be kidding me!! OK, let me get something straight. All these liberals run around crying "Keep your laws out of my bedroom", etc. when it comes to sodomy laws. They scream about the government meddling in people's personal business. Yet here comes this woman saying we need to put a cop in every house to make sure that big, bad, mean ol' dad doesn't hurt Johnny's feelings when Johnny calls him a name Johnny shouldn't be using, or talking back to mom.

I can just see it now. Little Johnny just doesn't feeeellll like doing his homework tonight. Dad tells him, "Johnny, you need to do your homework." Johnny says, "Go ahead, try to make me. I'll call DCS and tell them you spanked me." This is nothing more than a way for people like Marian Wright Edelman and her Children's Offense Defense Fund to take any authority away from parents, tranfer it to children, and raise a bunch of disrespectful delinquents who will wind up voting Democrat. And if anybody thinks this is anything other than that, I've got a bridge I'd like to seel ya.
