Why doesn't this surprise me?

OK, so a Catholic priest in the Netherlands does an interview. During the talk the priest says,

"Hey, I got a great idea here! Ready? OK, so, from now on we refer to Almighty GOD as 'Allah'! It just sounds so, I don't know, how do you say? Whatever. Anyhoo, the kids'll love it, the Muslims'll love it! Then, we all go out for ice cream!"

So, what's the punchline? There is no punchline. This is no joke [/sarcasm]. Via Hot Air:

AMSTERDAM - A Roman Catholic Bishop in the Netherlands has proposed people of all faiths refer to God as Allah to foster understanding, stoking an already heated debate on religious tolerance in a country with one million Muslims.

Bishop Tiny Muskens, from the southern diocese of Breda, told Dutch television on Monday that God did not mind what he was named and that in Indonesia, where Muskens spent eight years, priests used the word "Allah" while celebrating Mass.

"Allah is a very beautiful word for God. Shouldn't we all say that from now on we will name God Allah? ... What does God care what we call him? It is our problem."

Well buddy, you sure got a problem alright. You might try reading a Bible once in a while. And not that Catholic abomination, where they leave out the part about not bowing down to statues and they add that purgatory nonsense. You might just find out that GOD's name is YHWH, or "I AM". Don't believe me, read Exodus 3:14--"And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I AM...Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, ‘I AM has sent me to you.’" But, hey, we common folks are too stupid to read the Bible, right? We should leave that up to the learned priests, and the bishops and blah blah blah.

So, this guy thinks we ought to cave to the Islamofascists, and call Almighty YHWH by that blasphemous other name? I call HERESY! But, as the title of this post says, it shouldn't be that surprising. Read paragraph 841 of their Catechism:

841 The Church's relationship with the Muslims. "The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind's judge on the last day."

Wake up, folks! The Catholic Church was built on paganism, and the worship of a man (the Pope) who thinks he's GOD. And one day, by the time the world finally realizes that the Romish church is in league with the Islamofascists, it will be too late for many.
