Recently, National Organization for Women (NOW) President Kim Gandy was asked in a radio interview to describe the procedure she so vigorously supports. She couldn’t. When pressed, she sputtered, “I’m not a doctor.”The second item is about an Arab news network run by a former
When the host cited testimony of a doctor, one Dr. Martin Haskell — the man who pioneered and has performed at least a thousand of these abortions — Mr. Gandy replied “I don’t know who Dr. Haskell is.”
It’s important to know who Dr. Haskell is, since he has debunked a central claim of unrestricted late-term abortion proponents, that they are critical to protect the “health” of the mother. According to an interview in American Medical News, Dr. Haskell said, “I’ll be quite frank: most of my abortions are elective in that 20-24 week range. . . . In my particular case, probably 20% are for genetic reasons. And the other 80% are purely elective.”
The thrid item in this post is, by far, the best. It is a column written by (hopefully) future president Fred! Thompson, and gives us some insight as to why he should run for, and win, the White House. Because this, folks, is how you address problems:
It bothers Americans when we’re told how unpopular we are with the rest of the world. For some of us, at least, it gets our back up — and our natural tendency is to tell the French, for example, that we’d rather not hear from them until the day when they need us to bail them out again. You see, what liberals don't seem to understand is that war is not a popularity contest. We don't care a hoot about what the rest of the world is saying. We are defending their keisters from an Al-Qaeda threat that will not stop until they are dead, or they submit to Allah (The name "Islam" means "submission to Allah). So, let Europe demilitarize. If they don't mind being called "dhimmis" by those of us here in America who will still be free, that's their problem.
But we cool off. We’re big boys and girls, after all, and we don’t really bruise that easily. We’re also hopeful that, eventually, our ostrich-headed allies will realize there’s a world war going on out there and they need to pick a side — the choice being between the forces of civilization and the forces of anarchy. Considering the fact that the latter team is growing stronger and bolder daily, while most of our European Union friends continue to dismantle their defenses, that day may not be too long in coming.
In the meantime, let’s be realistic about the world we live in. Mexican leaders apparently have an economic policy based on exporting their own citizens, while complaining about U.S. immigration policies that are far less exclusionary than their own. The French jail perfectly nice people for politically incorrect comments, but scold us for holding terrorists at Guantanamo.
